Gender Pay Gap

Gender pay gap reporting legislation requires that from 2017, any organization that has 250 or more employees must publish and report specific figures about their gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is the difference between the average earnings of men and women, expressed relative to men’s earnings.

You are reading the 2019-20 gender pay gap report for Workr Umbrella Limited. This is the company that employs all contractors who use our payroll and employment service.

We calculated the mean hourly rate of pay that our male employees received and compared it to that of female employees. It showed a pay gap of 4% in favour of women. When we did the same with the median hourly rate of pay, it showed a 19% pay gap in favour of women.

We did not pay bonuses to any employees and therefore there’s a 0% difference between bonuses paid to males and females.

Pay Quartiles

  • In the lower quartile, 56% are male and 44% are female
  • In the lower middle quartile, 41% are male and 59% are female
  • In the upper middle quartile, 44% are female and 56% are male
  • In the upper quartile, 27% are female and 73% are male
  • Across our whole workforce, 45% are female and 55% are male
